Relay terms
Last updated: 30 October 2026
What the relay is
The relay is a free, non-commercial service at oauth.privacyfence.eu. When a PrivacyFence server signs a person in to a service with one of PrivacyFence's built-in apps (or with the built-in Google sign-in), the provider can send the sign-in redirect only to one fixed address. The relay is that address. It forwards the redirect to the PrivacyFence server that started the sign-in. It is operated by the publisher named in the imprint.
As is, no warranty
The relay is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. There is no service-level agreement and no obligation to provide support.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher is not liable for any damage arising from using or being unable to use the relay, including lost data, lost access, interrupted sign-ins or the cost of replacement apps. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life, body or health.
Change, suspension and revocation
The relay, the built-in apps (including the built-in Google sign-in) and these terms may change, be suspended or end at any time, without notice. A registered host can be revoked at any time, in particular for abuse, a security concern or a provider's request.
Your responsibilities
- The operator of a PrivacyFence server is responsible for that server, for the accounts people connect to it, and for its own legal compliance, including any records of processing.
- Each provider's own terms apply to its sign-in: Google, Slack, Salesforce, Atlassian and Miro.
- Do not register a host you do not control. Do not use the relay to phish or to get around a provider's policy.
Use your own apps
An organization that needs more than "as is" registers its own apps on the Admin page of its PrivacyFence server. The relay is then not used for them. See the documentation.
Privacy
